The Department of History at Florida State University, in collaboration with the Florida Institute for Governance and Civics, invites applications for a position in the History department, at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank in the history of early America (before 1820). This is a full-time, 9-month, tenured or tenure-track position with an anticipated start date of August 2025. The area of specialization is open. The successful candidate will be expected to work with the department's undergraduate and graduate students, supervise PhD candidates, and teach two courses per semester. A commitment to the mission of enhancing civic and historical awareness as well as a readiness to contribute to the intellectual life and programmatic development of the IGC is expected.

A Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization is required.
